The official first day of summer 2019 is June 21, and we’re guessing you’re as excited as we are for this extra fun and beautiful season here in Orange County. But how can you make the most of it? What are some of the must-do things happening this summer? How should you plan for your specific family and budget goals?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Chris Riggins is a family operated Orange County remodeling contractor located right here in Coastal California. Go to the beach.

Spend the day at one of the many fabulous Orange County beaches and/or family-friendly tide pools in Orange County.

Explore Balboa Island.

Ride the Balboa Ferry and check out the Balboa Fun Zone while you’re there!

Go to Adventure Playground.  

Adventure Playground is one of the most unusual parks in Orange County and in the U.S. featuring a mud hole, sensory garden, gigantic tree house, art zone, sandboxes, concrete slides, giant Legos and Tonka trucks, and more.

See a concert or movie at the park or beach.

Check out this list of over 100 OC outdoor concerts to find a show near you, or head to one of these OC Movies in the Park for an evening under the stars.  

Explore Irvine Regional Park.

Ride the Irvine Park Railroad train, rent a paddle boat on the lake or bike for the trails, and visit the OC Zoo inside the park.

Trek the Oso Creek Trail.

Located in Mission Viejo, CA, the beautiful Oso Creek Trail contains 5.5 miles of trails with numerous amenities and fun, educational features throughout.

Splash it up and cool down at Knott’s Soak City.

Knott’s Soak City isOrange County’s biggest water park featuring lots of water slides, a wave pool, kiddie area and lazy river.

Visit the “Patients” at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center.  

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescues, rehabilitates and releases marine mammals and inspires ocean stewardship through research, education and collaboration.

Attend the OC Fair. 

From July 12-August 11, you can head out to the OC Fair and watch your mama pet a llama, soar up high on La Grande Wheel and sample the newest deep-fried, sugar-coated treats. Plus check out the best in visual art, woodworking, jam-making and more.

Go to the beach (again)!
